PYD Spotlight Day – Morning Plenary Session

Join us Monday morning for the PYD Spotlight Day Plenary Session, brought to you by the 4-H PLWG Standing Committee on Positive Youth Development. We are excited to bring you this morning’s program to increase your understanding of PYD practice in 4-H. You will leave the session informed and motivated to make your PYD work the best it can be for a generation of youth that need 4-H now more than ever!

PYD Spotlight Day Plenary Address

Readiness, Resilience, and Respect: Why Foundational PYD Research is More Important than Ever.

We are delighted to welcome Karen Pittman, Founder and former CEO of the Forum for Youth Development, to 4-H this morning! Ms. Pittman arguably started the youth development movement in the early 1990s with her famous statement “problem free is not fully prepared.” Ms. Pittman is a long-time supporter of 4-H, and today she will share an updated vision of PYD for a new generation of youth.

National 4-H Leadership Panel

We also welcome to the morning stage the leaders of our five national 4-H partners. Each leader will reflect on the important role that 4-H plays in the lives of youth right now, and share the work they are doing to support high-quality PYD across the 4-H system.

Jill Bramble, Incoming President and CEO, National 4-H Council

Dr. Joshua Rice, 4-H PLWG Chair, Pennsylvania State University
Craig Presar, NAE4-HYDP President West Virginia University
