2024 4-H PYD Virtual Academy – Building Youth Resilience, Purpose, and Readiness through Positive Youth Development

The world of work and life lies ahead for every young person. But will they be ready? Will the have the skills they need, a sense of purpose in life and the resilience to navigate the complexities of life beyond high school? The goal for every young person is to be resilient, purposeful, and ready to navigate life’s challenges.

Research shows that a positive youth development approach can help build these essential qualities in youth. This 3-day virtual academy will introduce you to the important role that positive youth development plays in ensuring that youth are resilient and ready. Each day consists of a daily keynote address, a reflection and application session, and opportunities to join in capacity-building sessions to hone and apply your PYD skills with youth. This academy is recommended for all 4-H professionals and those involved with other youth-serving organizations.

The purpose of the committee is to advance the science and research foundation of positive youth development across the 4-H system. 4-H PYD Academies are produced with the convening and financial support of National 4-H Council.
